Parks and open spaces in Swindon - Lydiard Park

Lydiard Park and Lydiard House - formerly the property of the Viscounts Bollingbroke - are owned by Swindon Borough Council. The park is open to the public, and entrance is free (there is a small charge for entrance to the house). The park is also used as a venue for various arts, community and sporting events.

  • Dogs are welcome in the park, though not allowed in the children's play area, playing fields, Lydiard House and Walled Garden (except guide dogs), the cafe and indoor areas of the Tea Rooms
How to get there
From the M4 junction 16 follow Swindon at the first roundabout turn left and left at the next, signposted Lydiard Park and Hook.

COVID-19 - changing rules on exercising

Lydiard Park is open for exercise from 7.30am and will close its gates at 5.30pm. Normal parking charges will apply throughout the park. Cars still remaining after 5.30pm will be locked in until the following morning.
