Service summary

The Farm Cookery School offers practical cooking sessions for children and young people aged 6 to 18.

Sessions aim to build confidence, self-esteem and trusting relationships in a relaxed learning environment. Young people develop cooking and everyday life skills while building a more positive attitude towards learning.

Sessions take place in a large, modern kitchen with disabled access. Recipes are based on healthy eating principles, all ingredients are provided and dietary needs can be accommodated.

Wednesday sessions

These sessions are for primary and secondary school-aged learners.

  • Maximum of eight students per session
  • Each student has their own cooking station
  • Each student must be accompanied by an adult
  • Activities focus on confidence, self-esteem and practical life skills

Thursday sessions

These sessions are for secondary school-aged learners.

  • Maximum of 12 students per session
  • No accompanying adult is required
  • Students work together in pairs
  • Activities focus on confidence, positive relationships with other young people and practical life skills
