Service summary

South West ALP & Mentoring provides alternative education and mentoring for children and young people. The service helps learners develop academically, socially and emotionally.

Support focuses on building confidence, motivation and aspirations, alongside practical skills for education and everyday life.

South West ALP & Mentoring offers:

  • Functional and life skills development
  • Enrichment activities outside the core learning day

Individual learning plans

Each learner receives an individual learning plan during their induction. This sets out their educational and life skills goals.

Learning timetables are structured around individual needs. Progress and achievements are monitored, with updates shared as appropriate.

The aim is to help learners build on their existing skills, gain qualifications and develop confidence for their next steps.
