Service summary

Education Boutique provides personalised alternative provision tuition for children and young people who need additional support with their education.

The service supports learners with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), social, emotional and mental health needs or medical conditions. It also supports learners experiencing school-related trauma, severe anxiety or difficulties attending school.

The aim is to help learners re-engage with education and return to learning where possible.

What the service offers

Education Boutique works with schools, local authorities and parents to provide tuition tailored to each learner's needs.

Support ranges from project-based learning and the Early Years Foundation Stage to preparation for GCSE examinations.

Tutors are matched to learners based on their experience, personality, interests and hobbies.

Tuition is available in person or online. In-person sessions can take place:

  • at the learner's home
  • at school
  • in libraries or community centres

Safeguarding and learner progress

Education Boutique states that its tutors have experience supporting learners with special educational needs. Tutors are vetted and have references, valid work authorisation and an up-to-date Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check registered with the Update Service.

The organisation also has two designated safeguarding leads.

After each session, tutors produce a report covering the activities completed, learner engagement and progress. These reports are available to clients and can be downloaded for reviews and ongoing assessment.

Education Boutique also supports schools seeking funding for learners with special educational needs, including applications through the special educational needs panel.
