Jamie’s farm offers weeklong residential programmes for young people with Tier 3 and 4 support needs. The residential programme supports emotional wellbeing, builds relationships, develops list skills and promotes school engagement.
Before the residential begins, staff from Jamie’s Farm visits the school to gain an insight into the young person’s needs. During the week of the residential, young people engage in a range of farming and therapeutic activities, including horse work, woodchopping, farm tasks, gardening and cooking.
These activities are usually completed in small groups but all young people are encouraged to come together as a larger group to reflect on their learning and experiences, such as during meal times or evening activities. After the residential, staff from Jamie’s Farm visit the young person for a review meeting.
