Prime Theatre have been working with Swindon Borough Council for over 20 years to support the following priority groups – NEET, at risk of EET, Youth Justice and SEND. Prime provide creative arts activities to develop specialist skills, communication techniques, the building of confidence, decrease of social exclusion and improvement in mental health and well-being. Their activities support inclusion, re-engagement, one-to-one tuition, online learning and education supporting Post 16 learning.
Prime use a suite of Arts Award qualifications accredited by Trinity. These work from an introductory certificate, Entry level 1, then upwards to Level 3 and 16 UCAS points. These qualifications are a rigorous and high-quality alternative to the mainstream curriculum and pathways within the award are suited to individual capabilities. The awards improve learner’s motivations, self-confidence, attendance and aspirations to future education and employment.
The diverse and inclusive activities are delivered by professional youth workers, educators and artist across the creative industries. Their portfolio includes dance, drama, creative writing, digital/visual arts, music and emerging arts forms practised by the young people we serve. By applying creative skills around other interests. Moderations take place when the learner is ready, rather than fixed exam deadlines.
