Apricot Learning Online provides online tuition to children and young people who are facing a range of barriers in accessing mainstream education. The provision has four key aims:

• Reengagement with learning – helping students to find motivation and enthusiasm for learning after a period of disengagement
• Recognition of self-work – supporting the development of confidence and self-belief through supportive lessons and guidance
• Reintegration to school, where possible – address the underlying concerns and begin the reintegration process of returning to school to support the learner’s academic and social-wellbeing
• Replacement of school, where necessary – helping a student to find a new school if they are not able to remain in their current provision.

Apricot Learning follows the National Curriculum and addresses prior learning to close any gaps in knowledge that the learner may have. The staff implement a wide range of learning strategies to support individuals but also encourage them to take responsibility and ownership of their own learning. Providing support in this way helps students to recognise and celebrate their own talents and successes.

Students have access to a range of subjects and each lesson is recorded for catch-up and revision sessions. Alongside being recorded, each class is interactive to meet the needs and interests of the learner.
