Ackerman Pierce has over 5 years’ experience within Alternative Provision and working in partnership with their students, familiars. Their aim is to ensure excellent outcomes for the students who have access to their provision: including those with SEND/ADHD/ASD/SEMH needs, school refusers, complex needs and disabilities.
Ackerman Pierce provision teams are location specific and dedicated to understanding their tutor’s and client’s needs. They provide individual and tailored tuition specific to every child’s unique circumstance, putting in place the essential first building blocks to ensure positive outcomes are achieved. Their tutors aim to make learning fun, engaging and relatable - they get to know their students focusing on establishing rapport and trust, becoming aware of the student’s interests/motivations/ambitions, so they can adapt/build lesson plans that encourage engagement.
Ackerman Pierce provide up to 15 hours 1:1 outreach tuition per week per child utilising the family home or community setting following instruction from the Local Authority. They focus on KS1-5 and GCSE core subject delivery, functional skills and mentoring. Assisting in preparation for SATs/GCSEs/entry level exams helping students improve their chances of academic success, with a focus on next steps and positive outcomes dependant on the student’s needs. They also support with life skills/communication/ interaction/cognition and learning, social/emotional/mental health in line with pupils’ specific needs/EHCP, thematic approach, relationships, health and wellbeing and living in the wider world.
