Academy21 is the UKs leading live online alternative provision specialist, accredited by the DfE through the Online Education Accreditation Scheme (OEAS). Learners remain on their school roll and can access lessons from any location including school, a learning centre, home or out in the community. The programme is adaptable and inclusive, working with learners with Tier 2 and 3 support needs, as well as those with behavioural, medical or mental health needs. The support offered helps to prepare learners to transition back into mainstream education or prepare them for the world of work.

Sessions are delivered during term time and learners have access to a range of support during each session. Alongside weekly lessons, students also have access to one-to-one support tutorials and an optional weekly consolidation lesson to address any gaps or missed learning from the week. All lessons are recorded and are available outside of the structured sessions to promote independence and an opportunity to revisit learning.

Each lesson is delivered by a fully qualified subject specialist, and the teachers work with the same groups of learners so that relationships are built and maintained. Teachers are flexible in their approach and adapt their learning to suit the needs of the learners. There is a focus on pastoral support, academic challenge and educational engagement.

The courses provide the opportunity for pupils to achieve nationally recognised GCSEs and Functional Skills qualifications. Courses that learners can participate in include English, Maths, Science, Humanities & Citizenship, ICT, PSHE, Geography and History. There are additional courses available for learners in Key Stage 5 (AS Level and A-Level).

Academy21 streamlines the enrolment process for schools and local authorities, enabling them to support learners precisely when they need it. With the capability to enrol students in as little as two working days, Academy21 accepts referrals throughout the academic year.

The service only accepts referrals from Schools, Education Organisations, and Local Authorities. Upon contacting them, a dedicated Partnership Manager (PM) will delve into the referral and learner's needs. The information from the enrolment form allows for a personalised curriculum and timetable to be produced, focusing on ‘Right Support, Right Place, Right Time’ provision.
