Fire at HWRC now contained
A fire at Swindon’s Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC) in Cheney Manor industrial estate has been contained.

The fire started in the site’s waste processing plant at around 10.50am and nine fire crews from Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to the scene. No one was injured as a result of the incident.
The HWRC is currently closed and residents who have booked appointments at the recycling centre have been advised not to attend today and to rebook their slot.
