First owners of Euclid Terrace property receive their keys
Seven new three-bedroom homes in Euclid Street, a few metres away from the Civic Offices, have been built and sold by Swindon Borough Council.

Marketed as Euclid Terrace, they are the first homes to be built and sold by the Council on the open market as part of the Council’s Commercial House Building Programme.
The new homes are on the site of former nursery buildings, and the income generated by the development will be used to support existing council services.
The first of the new owners received the keys to their new home today (Friday 8 June).
Designed by the Council’s architect, Euclid Terrace uses quality materials and finishes to create homes that are in keeping with the Victorian and Edwardian properties along Euclid Street.
The development has also been shortlisted as a finalist for the LABC West of England Building Excellence Awards 2018, and the winners will be announced in July.
The houses have on-site parking and are within easy walking distance of the town centre, local school and the Central Library.
Cllr Russell Holland, Swindon Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Finance and Commercialisation, said: “This is a small development, but highly significant being the first housing scheme delivered by our new Housing Company.
“Our aim through this scheme is to create a continuous cycle of building new homes, which in turn raises additional revenue to help pay for council services.
“As well as creating revenue, these new homes will reduce some of the Council’s costs as there will be unused sites that we no longer have to maintain or secure.
“I’m delighted to welcome the new owners into their home today and I hope they will be the first of many happy residents at Euclid Terrace.”
