Local people will have another chance to meet and talk with Council Officers and Members at an upcoming engagement event this autumn.

Swindon Borough Council is hosting a further ‘Let’s talk Swindon’ resident engagement event on Saturday, 4 October at the Civic Offices, to provide an update on progress against its Swindon Plan and the organisation’s missions to deliver a better, fairer and greener Swindon.

The event, which follows a number of similar sessions over the past two years, will take place between 11am and 4.30pm and will be divided into three 90-minute time slots. Residents can book the best time for them and will have an opportunity to hear from Council Leader, Councillor Jim Robbins and the Council’s Chief Executive, Sam Mowbray. There will also be a chance to meet council officers to find out about the work of the Council and to ask questions about any areas of interest.

This is a further opportunity for local residents to help shape how Council services are designed and delivered in the future.

Councillor Jim Robbins, Leader of Swindon Borough Council, said: “We have had really positive conversations with local people at all of our previous Let’s talk Swindon events and we’re really keen to keep that engagement going at this upcoming session.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for residents to get involved and help shape the future of Swindon. We’re inviting people to share their views on the work of the Council and tell us what matters most to them.

“By hosting it on a weekend, we’re making it easier for more people to attend and take part in these important conversations. We are also looking to deliver an evening session to ensure we offer as much opportunity as possible and the date of this will be announced soon.

“I’m really looking forward to hearing from residents and encourage everyone to come along and get involved. The event will also be a great opportunity for residents to visit the Civic Campus and are invited to attend the Museum whilst they are there”

The three sessions to book are:

• Session one: 11am – 12.30pm

• Session two: 1pm – 2.30pm

• Session three: 3pm – 4.30pm
