Comic Con 2023

On 22 June, the event, run by Stars of Time, who organise the very successful annual Comic Con at the Tropicana in Weston-Super-Mare, will allow fans of Star Wars, Marvel, Doctor Who, Indiana Jones and many more to meet and experience different aspects of their favourite universes in brand new zoned areas for 2024.

Alongside some of the guest stars this year, including Sylvester McCoy (Doctor Who) and Mike Quinn (Star Wars), the event is back with even more prop displays, competitions, character meet and greets and entertainment. Visitors will also be able to come face-to-face with some iconic villains including Daleks, Storm Troopers and Cybermen.

Pop-culture fans attending the Comic Con are invited to arrive dressed-up as their favourite TV, film or other fictional character and will be able to enter a free cosplay competition during the weekend.

And new for this year is the opportunity to create a mini me with ‘Model U’ where attendees can be scanned and printed in miniature.

There will also be opportunities for fans to explore a wide range of merchandise from various traders that specialise in all things pop culture.

Stars of Time ran its first Comic Con in 2010 in Weston-Super-Mare and since then has grown its event offering year on year with eye-catching Sci-Fi displays and celebrity guests.

Harry Burrows, Event Organiser at Stars of Time, said: “We are excited to be bringing the event to Swindon for the third time this summer following on from the amazing response we received at STEAM Museum for the last two years.

“The Swindon Film and Comic Con will bring ‘Sci-Fi’ magic to life with a variety of special guests, immersive displays, eye-catching props and vehicles.

“We already have some brilliant special guests lined up, including: Sylvester McCoy, who played the seventh Doctor in Doctor Who, Mike Quinn who is most famous for his role as Nien Nunb in Return of the Jedi, The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi, Brian Wheeler who played an Ewok in Star Wars Episode VI and many more special guests.”

Admission prices are £17.50 for adults, £13.00 for children and £49.50 for family tickets (either two adults and two children, or one adult and three children). Under threes go free! Tickets include entry to the event, plus admission into STEAM’s award-winning museum displays.
