Swindon Borough Council’s School Admissions team received 2,432 on-time applications for primary school places.

Parents could request a place in up to three schools and 99.8 per cent were offered a place in one of their three preferences.

The deadline for applying for primary school places was 15 January 2024 and parents who applied online will receive an email offer today if they asked to receive their offer by email.

Offer emails for those that applied after the deadline, and letters for those who declined an offer email, will be sent out to parents throughout the day.

Annette Perrington, Swindon Borough Council’s Director of Inclusion and Achievement, said: “We have fantastic Primary schools here in Swindon and I’m very pleased that 98.6 per cent of pupils will be able to attend their first-choice primary school in September.

"The Admissions team work hard every year to process thousands of on time applications. Starting school is always an exciting and slightly daunting time for parents and children. It’s always reassuring for parents to have a confirmed place at their school of choice. Good luck to all children and their parents who are starting in Reception in 2024”

If parents have any queries regarding primary school places for this September, they should email School Admissions at schooladmissions@swindon.gov.uk or contact the school directly.
