What you can do to help rough sleepers

The key to helping homeless people is to ensure they get off the streets and into secure accommodation as quickly as possible. Although members of the public are generous, giving money to rough sleepers doesn’t help them in the long-term.

Let us know about rough sleepers by calling the housing team on 01793 445503 or by making a report via the StreetLink website.

This information will then be passed to outreach workers who will engage with the rough sleeper to encourage them to seek help.

Also, instead of giving money in the street, it’s much better to donate to reputable charities.
