Angling at Coate Water

The fishing season at Coate Water is from 15 June - 15 March each year.

To find the designated fishing areas and relevant rules and regulations, you can either check the noticeboards at Coate Water or download a copy of the relevant information below:

Please remember that you are required by law to hold a valid Environment Agency fishing rod licence, available from the Gov.uk website before purchasing the tickets or applying for the permits detailed below.

Bankside day tickets

You can set up on the bank in the designated fishing areas from 7.30am and purchase a relevant day ticket from the ranger on duty when they check the lake. You are allowed to fish until dusk which will obviously change with the season.

Permits

If you are thinking of angling regularly at Coate Water, season permits are available.

  • Day Season Permits enable the holder to set up on the bank and fish from 7.30 am until dusk throughout the fishing season.
  • A 24hr Permit entitles the holder to camp overnight and fish whilst on site throughout the fishing season.

The application form for both types of permit is available to download below. Two passport size photos are required along with payment for the application. If you are applying for a concession with your permit you will need to send a photocopy of the relevant documentation to verify the information.
