Connect to work
Connect to Work is a free employment programme funded by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). If you are finding it difficult to get a job or stay in work, we can provide personalised support to help you achieve your employment goals.
Whether you are unemployed, have a disability or long-term health condition, or are at risk of losing your job, our team can help you find and maintain suitable employment.
How Connect to Work can help
You will have one-to-one support from a dedicated Employment Specialist who will work with you to understand your:
- strengths
- career goals
- skills
- personal circumstances
Together, you will create a plan tailored to your needs and the type of work you want to do.
Support can include:
- one-to-one guidance from a dedicated Employment Specialist
- personalised employment planning based on your goals and strengths
- help finding suitable job opportunities
- support with CVs, job applications and interview preparation
- advice about managing a disability or health condition at work
- ongoing support for you and your employer after you start work
Our approach
Connect to Work uses a supported employment approach called Place, Train, Maintain.
This approach helps you move into suitable employment as quickly as possible, while providing training and support to help you succeed and stay in work.
Most participants receive support through the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) model. Where appropriate, we also use the Supported Employment Quality Framework (SEQF).
These nationally recognised approaches bring together employment, health and skills support to help people achieve long-term success in work.
Who can get support
You may be able to get support if you are struggling to find work or stay in work because of:
- a disability
- a long-term health condition
- another barrier to employment
Connect to Work is a voluntary programme. Taking part is your choice.

We also work with organisations to help them create welcoming, inclusive workplaces where people can succeed.
