Bollywood Mini Mela Outdoor Cinema

Head to Lydiard Park this August for a magical evening of open-air cinema in association with Create Studios.
Celebrate South Asian Heritage Month with a special screening of the 2011 Bollywood favourite Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, directed by Zoya Akhtar.
Three childhood friends reunite for a transformative road trip to Spain before one of them gets married. Experience this soul-stirring journey of friendship, adventure and self-discovery in the stunning setting of Lydiard Park’s Walled Garden.
Before the film, immerse yourself in the spirit of South Asian culture with traditional drumming and dance performances. Beautiful Henna art will be available for an extra charge.
Don’t miss this unforgettable summer cinema experience under the stars!
Bring a blanket or chair with you and something to keep you warm. Delicious Indian street food, drinks, and ice cream will be available to purchase on the evening.

Summer at the Green

Wharf Green in Swindon town centre will be transformed into a pop-up park hosting a number of free family events this summer.
Throughout August, activities such as an outdoor cinema and planetarium, will occupy the square. Each weekend you will see a different theme with a marquee activity taking place. There will also be activities taking place every Wednesday, including art and circus workshops.
The pop-up park, featuring a large artificial grass area, picnic benches, and play elements like hopscotch, a numbered snake and a running track, will remain in place throughout the month.
It can be enjoyed at any time, even when no events are taking place.
The schedule for the month is:
- Creative Arts Weekend with Signal Festival and the South Asian Performing Arts Centre – Saturday, 2 and Sunday, 3 August
- Circus School with the Swindon Circus and Outdoor Arts Project – Wednesday. 6 August
- Sports Weekend with ATB Skateshop – Saturday, 9 and Sunday, 10 August
- Wheelie Wednesday with British Cycling – Wednesday, 13 August
- Outdoor Cinema with Create Studios – Saturday, 16 and Sunday, 17 August
- Art Workshop and Garden Party with Artsite – Wednesday, 20 August
- Planetarium with Immersive Experiences – Saturday, 23 and Sunday, 24 August
- Live music finale with Swindon 105.5– Monday, 25 August
All events and activities are part of the Summer at the Green programme, open to everyone and family-friendly.
No booking is required – just turn up and join in.
