Natures Showcase Christmas Charity Art and Craft Fair

Artists and makers showcasing their work to raise funds for David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation and Game Rangers International, wildlife charities.
Come and join us in support of David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation and Game Rangers International. There will be wonderful gifts to help find that extra special gift ready for Christmas.
Children can help Santa find his lost presents with a FREE treasure hunt and win a prize.
It's a great opportunity to bring along the family and find out about wildlife conservation across Africa and Asia and support the charity's work by purchasing wildlife themed prints and gifts.
Entry to the museum is not required but is highly recommended.

Join a magical day of culture, creativity, and community as Swindon town centre comes alive with FREE family-friendly, imaginative experiences.
Follow a whimsical winter trail to discover giant, interactive imaginary creatures, a magical lantern forest and lots of inspiring FREE activities along the way!
Prepare to be mesmerised as The Whilers, by innovative creative tech studio Air Giants, interact with the crowd and each other to create an unforgettable, almost dreamlike encounter. Standing an incredible 3m tall, these larger-than-life, otherworldly glowing creatures are unlike anything you've seen before — part sloth, part spirit, part dragon.
Explore an ethereal lantern forest art installation created by local artists with the help of community groups, school children and visitors. Help this magical forest grow throughout the day by creating your own lanterns to add to the display.
Follow the panto-inspired Muddles’ Gingerbread Man Trail to find decorated characters hidden in local business windows as part of a fun discovery challenge organised by Artsite.
Join in with a range of free creative workshops and activities organised throughout the day at The Brunel Swindon and Swindon Hub. Supported by Arts Council England’s National Lottery Place Partnership Fund, Winter Fest is a partnership between Swindon Culture Collective, Swindon Borough Council, Wyvern Theatre, Artsite, Gel Studios, along with artists drawn from across the town.

Lydiard Park Christmas Lights Switch On

Gather with family and friends at Lydiard Park for a heart-warming start to the festive season.
Enjoy live music and traditional carols, meet Swindon Wildcats’ mascot Scratch, and watch as the Mayor of Swindon lights up Lydiard’s magnificent cypress tree.
Tuck into seasonal food and drinks throughout the evening and then head to Lydiard Park Hotel for comforting pie and mash, or burgers and frankfurters to take away.
The Coach House tea rooms will be open too, serving hot drinks, confectionery and offering a selection of Christmas gifts. Plus, this year, they're excited to welcome Gurt Wings – treat yourself to freshly fried chicken, cheesy STIX and crispy tater tots!
Steven Hill Funfairs will bring plenty of festive fun for the little ones, with Hook a Santa, children’s rides and a candy stall.
Entry is free and there’s no need to book – just wrap up warm and head to the main lawn outside Lydiard House.
This event marks the start of our festive programme at Lydiard Park.

Santa Paws dog photoshoot

- Cost: £15 – includes a dog goodie bag and a mini festive photoshoot, with the option to buy your favourite images and prints afterwards.
Capture your pup’s paw-fect Christmas moments at Lydiard Park.
Bring your four-legged friend along for our first ever Santa Paws dog photoshoot with Fetch and Pose. Enjoy a fun 15-minute indoor session filled with festive cheer.
- Please arrive at the Lydiard Park Coach House Activity Centre (next to the Tea Rooms) 5 to 10 minutes before your booked session
- If you are travelling by car, we recommend using the Hay Lane entrance to Lydiard Park
- Spaces are limited and tickets must be booked in advance
- Full payment (£15) is required at the time of booking
Please note: the £15 session fee does not include prints or digital downloads. After your session, you’ll receive a link to view your images online and choose your favourites. Prices start from £20 for high-resolution digital downloads, with discounts available for multiple image purchases.

Festive guided tour of Lydiard House with cream tea

Enjoy a wonderfully festive afternoon at Lydiard House Museum this December.
Begin your visit with a guided tour of the historic State Rooms, where you’ll discover the fascinating story of the St John family, including colourful characters, scandals and tragedies.
The Grade I listed house will be dressed for the season with traditional decorations, a real Christmas tree and exquisite foliage displays created by the Royal Wootton Bassett Flower Club.
Your guided tour will start at 1.00pm. Please arrive at the entrance to Lydiard House Museum five minutes before your tour begins.
Afterwards, you will sit down to enjoy a delicious cream tea, with scones served with jam, Cornish clotted cream and a pot of tea or coffee.
