Christmas, Experience

Bringing to you, the Sights and Sounds of Christmas...

Enjoy plenty of sparkles as you step into a wonderland of over 50 Christmas market stalls set amidst STEAM's fabulous story-telling displays and famous GWR locomotives.

Find that unique gift at one of our specially selected market stalls...

From hand crafted silver jewellery, photographic prints, glass artworks and home furnishings... Christmas tree decorations, wooden toys, traditional games, Christmas tree decorations, chutneys and luxury confectionery.

Seasonal atmospherics include special lighting and live choir music on stage. Inside our spacious Great Western Hall you'll find plenty of seating available as you take a break to enjoy the live musical performances.

Our Christmas Café, also in Great Western Hall, will be offering tempting hot and cold drinks, meals and snacks.

The combination of a warm welcome, superb live music and traditional fayre is sure to get you in the Christmas spirit!

Santa's Storytime

To complete the Christmas magic, Santa will be here on both days with his Santa’s Storytime sessions.

These include a festive story and sing-a-long, plus a wrapped gift and are held in the Museum's specially staged, Hawksworth Hall.

Sessions cost £7.50 per child, in addition to the admission price.

As a guide, we recommend that sessions are suitable for children between 3 and 10 years old. Up to two accompanying adults will be admitted free of charge, and do not need to purchase a Story Time ticket. Each session lasts approximately 20 minutes.

Places are limited to ensure children receive a quality experience. We recommend booking online to guarantee a space.

Santa's Story-times for Saturday and Sunday:

10.15am, 11.00am, 11.45am, 13.00pm, 13.45pm, 14.30pm, 15.15pm, 16.00pm.
