STEAM - Museum of the Great Western Railway

Swindon is a town famous for the Great Western Railway works, which today are brought alive at the award winning STEAM Museum, which is owned and managed by Swindon Borough Council alongside Lydiard Park.  Climb aboard famous locomotives, be an engine driver and get involved with lots of interactive exhibits as the imaginative displays take you through the story of the Great Western Railway.  STEAM is just 4 miles away from Lydiard Park so don't miss the opportunity to visit both heritage attractions. For more information, visit

Next to STEAM, you will find McArthurGlen's Swindon Designer Outlet and Heelis, the national headquarters of the National Trust.
