How to stay safe online

man using computer cartoon

Using the internet can be fun but it is important to stay safe when online as things can go wrong.  Something's that can happen include posting pictures that you wish you hadn't, sharing details about something private that you wish you had kept secret or someone bullying you online.  If you feel frightened or worried about anything whilst using the internet, for example on Facebook, Twitter, MySpace or in chat rooms, you should report it here as you have a right to be safe.

The ThinkUKnow website has information on all the internet sites you like to visit, stuff about your mobile and  new technology.  There is a place which anyone can use to report if they feel uncomfortable or worried about someone they are chatting to online.

This website is all about dangers on services like IM, online games, BBM email and mobiles

This is an internet safety programme website for schools, young people, parents and agencies made by the children's internet charity Childnet International
