And one Swindon councillor has called on shoppers to support their town centre and take full advantage of the festive bargains on offer.
Councillor Dale Heenan, Swindon Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for the Town Centre, has also reminded people that it’s the last week that the pop-up markets will be open for people to bag something a little bit different.
Situated at by the water fountain and along The Parade, the markets feature eight different stalls offering a range of festive foods and gifts, from hot mulled wine to juicy German sausages.
The operator, German Events Ltd, has popular market stalls on offer every year in Bristol, Birmingham, Aberdeen and Edinburgh, among other places, and if Swindon’s stalls are successful, next year’s market could expand to around 30 stalls.
Cllr Heenan said: “Our town centre is looking lovely and festive at the moment and I would encourage anybody who still needs to do their Christmas shopping to pop into town to support our local businesses.
“The markets seem to have been extremely well received this year, but it’s the last week they’ll be here – so be sure to take advantage of them.”
The stalls will be open until Monday, 23 December.
