Dads go free this weekend at STEAM – Museum of the Great Western Railway

Dads and grandads can celebrate Father’s Day in style with free entry to STEAM – Museum of the Great Western Railway this weekend (Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 June).

Published: Thursday, 13th June 2019

The celebratory weekend is a great way to discover the museum’s new special exhibitions: ‘World’s Fastest’ and ‘Time on Trial’ and become acquainted with iconic locomotives, including No. 3717 City of Truro and No. 4073 Caerphilly Castle - famous for their achievements in the world-wide 'race' to be fastest locos.

Visitors can also jump aboard the museum’s steam train simulator and test their skills in the interactive GWR Signal Box as they travel through STEAM.

On Saturday (15 June), dads will also be able to enjoy STEAM’s well-loved ‘Meet the Railway Workers’ event were they will hear fascinating anecdotes from knowledgeable volunteers, and be able to step onto the footplate of No. 4073 Caerphilly Castle, No. 3717 City of Truro and No. 6000 King George V.

*The special offer is valid on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 June 2019. One dad (or grandad) goes free with one full-paying adult or child. Not valid in conjunction with any other offer. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Please show the offer to STEAM’s friendly team when you arrive at the Museum. You may show the offer on your mobile phone, or print out a copy of the offer from STEAM’s website.

STEAM Museum is open: Monday to Saturday from 10am to 5pm (last admission 4pm) and on Sunday between 11am and 4pm (last admission 3pm).
