Lydiard Park's Walled Garden opening for the National Garden Scheme this Sunday

Lydiard Park’s ornamental fruit and flower Walled Garden is open for charity this Sunday (June 9) from 11am to 4pm, as part of The National Garden Scheme.

Just for this one day, a special entry fee applies where all proceeds will go to the NGS beneficiary charities, including: Macmillan Cancer Support; Marie Curie; Hospice UK; Carers Trust; Queen’s Nursing Institute; Parkinson’s UK; Perennial; National Autistic Society; and MS Society. The entry fee is £3 per adult and £2 per child.

The special charity opening offers the chance for visitors to enjoy the stunning flower displays in this beautiful and elegant 18th Century Walled Garden. Visitors can enjoy seasonal displays of beautiful, individually planted flowers and bulbs, alternating with topiary, elegantly displayed alongside unique garden features.

Lydiard Park’s Walled Garden is one of around 3,500 gardens open in England and Wales as part of The National Gardens Scheme Open for Charities event. Founded in 1927 to support district nurses, NGS are now the most significant charitable funder of nursing in the UK having donated a total of £58m to nursing and health charities, and an annual donation of £3m in 2019.

The Walled Garden is open all year round, every day from 11am to 4pm – there is an admission charge for entry and joint tickets with entry to the State Rooms of Lydiard House are also available.
