Animal licensing is changing

From 1 October 2018, licences for this activity will be issued under the The Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) (England) Regulations 2018. The full text of the regulations can be found on the Government Legislation website.

The guidance for this new legislation has just been published and can be found on the Canine and Feline Sector Group website.

You must have a Pet Shop Licence if you wish to sell pets. Licences are valid for a calendar year and so must be renewed on 1 January each year.

You must also have Public Liability Insurance.

The licence fee is £190 per year.

Reduction for single type of animal sold (e.g. fish only): £145 per year.
