COVID-19 - Reopening our libraries

Computer sessions

A limited number of public network computers are available at each library. You can use a computer for a pre-booked 45-minute slot.

Please be aware there is no printing, Wi-Fi printing or scanning available at this time. There will be no toilet facilities available.

There will be a limited number of 45-minute slots, starting on the hour.

How to book your slot

You will need to book your slot in advance by phoning the library you wish to visit. You need to call during the library's opening hours.

Before you visit

These sessions are self-service only, with no staff assistance.

Please make sure you bring your library card and know your PIN.

You are required to wear a mask or face covering when visiting the library. Please ensure you arrive wearing your mask or face covering.

Please use the hand sanitiser available at the entrance to the library.

Do not visit the library if you have any symptoms of COVID-19.

Please remember toilet facilities are not available.

What to expect when you arrive

Please arrive a few minutes before your allotted time. You may need to queue outside. If so, please follow social distancing guidelines. Staff will check names on the door before entry to the library.

Booked slots are for 45 minutes. At the end of the session, you will be asked to leave to allow staff time to clean computers before the next sessions begin.

Computer sessions start on the hour and will last for 45 minutes regardless of when the user logs in. Sessions cannot be extended under any circumstances. Food and drink are not permitted at the computer during your session.

If you leave the building during your session, we will not be able to re-admit you.

No face-to-face staff assistance will be available. Users needing assistance with job searching, applications or Universal Credit will be able to phone a dedicated telephone support line for assistance on a Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday between 11.00am and 12 noon. Please look out for a poster with further details about this assistance next to your computer.

No printing, Wi-Fi printing, scanning or photocopying available.

Only one login per person per day will be available. This is in order to ensure as many people as possible can access the service.

Only one person may attend each computer booking.

NHS Test and Trace

When you visit the library, you will need to comply with the government’s requirements for Test and Trace, either by scanning the QR code or filling in the paper form.
