Second stage of BT public payphone removal consultation
The first consultation on BT’s proposals to remove a number of phone callboxes from Swindon Borough has closed on Friday, 13 December 2019. We have considered the future of each of the callboxes by reflecting on a number of different factors. Factors we considered were; the location, level of use, the responses from residents, Parish and Ward councillors and community groups.
The schedule below sets out our recommendations for each individual callbox, either objecting or not objecting to their removal. Where we object to the removal of a box, it has been necessary to provide evidence to support this.
The above schedule forms the First Notification under Section 49(4) of the Communications Act 2003 to be forwarded to BT.
Ofcom guidance requires that a second consultation must be carried out on the Council’s proposed recommendations before making a final response to BT.
