Care Act, 2014

Helping you to choose the right care and support

Many of us will need care and support at some point in our lives and most people will pay, at least something, towards the cost of their care. The new national Care Act changes are designed to help in planning for future needs and put you more in control of the help you receive.

Any decisions about your care and support will consider your wellbeing and what is important to you and your family, so you can stay healthy and remain independent for longer.

Who may benefit

You could benefit from these changes if you:
  • Receive care and support currently.
  • Support someone as a Carer; for the first time, Carers will be recognised, in law, in the same way as those they care for.
  • Are planning for care and support at some point in the future.
