    This spring, members of Swindon’s renowned Great Western Embroiders will present a new exhibition of embroidery and textiles.

    For the past year, members have been exploring Swindon’s rich photographic history and creating challenging and inspiring new work. The exhibition includes examples of photography, cameras and photographic equipment from the museum’s own collections. Image courtesy © Kathy

  • Connections: An Exhibition by group 7

    This group exhibition brings together the artists of group 7, who have a strong commitment to the media of drawing, painting and printmaking.

    They share an interest in abstract and expressive painting with a strong use of colour. The exhibition showcases their recent work, allowing visitors to discover this fascinating art ensemble for themselves. The group comprises Brian Bishop, Fran Donovan, Martin Brewster, Ursula Leach, Bonnie Brown, Peter Symonds and Michelle Griffiths, all of whom are based in the South of England.     Wellbeing Wednesdays will help you with ideas on how to be more active with your family. Each week, you will be able to speak to the ‘Live Well’ team to find out about opportunities in Swindon and have a go at some fun, inclusive activities, including; cycling, boxing, wheelchair basketball.

    Wednesday 21 August, 10.30 am to 12.00noon Come and join us on this popular children’s event and discover the wealth of life that lives and makes its home in the ponds at Coate. Meet at Coate Water Ranger Centre. Suitable for 6 to 12 year olds. Please bring waterproof gloves (such as marigolds), magnifying lens if you have one.
