    Cathy Lomax’s work is a contemporary and personal exploration of popular culture, beauty, celebrity and identity.

    Her projects have included an ongoing Film Diary, ‘Mock Tudor’ inspired by the art of Hans Holbein, and American Tan, which explores Hollywood glamour. In 2016, Lomax won the inaugural Contemporary British Prize. The competition was organised by Contemporary British Painting in order to celebrate and share the many important and exciting contemporary painters working in Britain today.     Starting from Coate, Richard Jefferies’ childhood playground, passing his home and along some of the paths he trod over the Downs; we see the source of much of the inspiration for his musings and writings. This adventure encompasses a 12 mile walk. Meet at Coate Water Ranger Centre. Please wear appropriate clothing, stout footwear, a drink and a sunhat is advisable. Bring binoculars if you have them.
