Parish and Town Councils

In addition to services provided by Swindon Borough Council, the rural areas of the borough and other urban areas are also served by parish or town councils. Among other duties, they are directly responsible for recreation grounds, footpath lighting, burial grounds, and allotments within their parishes. They are also consulted by the borough council about all planning applications within the parish.
