Freedom of Information Publication Scheme

In line with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act, Swindon Borough Council has publicised the details of its Publication Scheme, which describes:

  • What information is available
  • What format the information is available in
  • Where the information is located
  • How a copy of the information can be obtained
  • Whether a charge will be made for the information

The Publication Scheme is available as a downloadable pdf file:

Publication Scheme

If you are viewing this page via an i+ kiosk in Swindon, the view and download options are not available. Therefore to request a printed copy of the report please contact the Customer Services Department (see below).

Obtaining Paper Copies

Paper copies can be viewed at the Council's main Customer Services Department (see: Contact).

Many of the Council's customer-facing offices will also have copies of the Publication Scheme available for public viewing. This includes libraries and the Tourist Information Centre etc.

The main Customer Services Department will also hold a number of copies available for citizens or organisations who are unable to visit any of the council offices. If you request a copy of the Publication Scheme via post, then the Council will endeavour to send the free copy to you within two working days of the receipt of your request.

Free copies of the Publication Scheme will be provided on a 'one copy per request' basis.

Difficulties, Complaints and Suggestions

If you require help or wish to provide feedback about any difficulty in finding the information you want, or about a complaint about the way the Council has handled your request, or if you have any suggestions to make about how the Publication Scheme works, then please Contact Customer Services.
