Making a Claim for Damage to Personal Property

If you believe you have suffered damage or loss to your personal property as a result of Council negligence, please complete and return the claim form (please see below).

Please return the claim form, together with a copy of the receipt for the damaged item. If a receipt is not available we will need to see two estimates for the item’s repair/replacement.

No compensation will be paid unless we have the receipts in our possession. Please note that if compensation is paid it will be on an indemnity basis and not ‘new for old’ therefore we must take into consideration wear, tear and gradual depreciation.

Claim Form

The claim form is available as a downloadable pdf file and an online form:

To obtain a paper copy of the form please contact us.
