The purpose of this section of the website is to explain what we use your personal information for and how we take care of it.
New data protection legislation* has updated and enhanced the rights of customers/clients in respect of information held about them by businesses and government organisations.
Swindon Borough Council takes the security and confidentiality of personal information which it has, or may have, about existing and future customers/clients seriously. We have published these pages to help inform you about the effect of the new legislation on the relationship between us.
These pages set out how the Council may process information about you and how we will endeavour to look after that information. It also briefly explains your right to see your personal information.
*This refers to the Data Protection Act 1998. These pages are not a full statement of the law and it does not detail all of your rights.
