These are an important element in the increase of road safety at night. They also improve the quality of life for residents by deterring crime and making people feel more secure.
We have an annual cleaning, visual inspection and electrical testing regime and aim to change ‘lamps’ every three years on most units.
In addition, we have a programme of ‘scouting’, which takes place at night every two weeks throughout the year that aims to identify any lights that are out or not working. Some problems can occur between inspections, however. As such we would like you to let us know if you notice any defect so that remedial work can be carried out at as early a stage as possible.
