Car Park Charges

Car Parking Charges

New Charges from 1 April

New car parking charges come into effect on 1 April 2008.

Full details are contained in a Public Notice, which is available as a downloadable PDF file:

Public Notice - Parking Charges 2008-09 (27Kb)

Variations in Fees

Fees vary between short stay, premium, long stay and Old Town parking. Details are given below.

Transfer Between Car Parks

Tickets are transferable between pay-and-display car parks but visitors should be aware that if they transfer from a cheaper car park to a more expensive one then the extra fee must be paid.

Ticket Purchase

With the exception of pay-on-foot car parks, where the fee is paid on departure, then a ticket should be purchased immediately after parking (failure to do so incurs a £60 Penalty Charge Notice).

Change

Please note that change is not available from the machines, with the exception of the pay-on-foot car parks. Pay-on-foot car parks also have note changers but customers are requested not to use large denomination notes to pay for small charges as the change tubes will soon run low. Charges may also be paid by cheque at the customer information kiosks.

Please follow the links below or to the right for charges applicable to each car park.
