Croquet Clubs

Swindon Croquet Club

2007 is the Swindon Croquet Clubs twenty first anniversary of promoting the sport in Swindon and the surrounding area. Croquet is played on two and a half-lawns provided and maintained by Swindon Borough Council at Moredon playing Fields opposite Manor Garden Centre. The club currently plays in two leagues in the South-West Federation of Croquet Clubs. The club has a keen Golf Croquet and Association Croquet membership both played level or as handicap games.

The Croquet season begins on the first of April and runs until the end of October. The club provides coaching for all age groups, running evening courses starting in May and will again run a seniors course, which proved so successful in 2006, on Tuesday mornings in partnership with SBC Lifestyle.

Tuesday evening is devoted to Golf Croquet, an easier learnt sociable croquet game. Wednesday evening is club night mostly Association Croquet with improver coaching.

The Club will, for the sixth year, be supporting the Swindon Borough’s RNIB indoor sports and the Access outdoor sports day for children at the Link Leisure Centre and the County Ground Athletic Track.

One off fun golf croquet events can be arranged for family, work place, office, and social groups, ask your social secretary to contact the club secretary for details.
