Homework Help

Homework Help

Need help with your homework?

We have lots of information books in Swindon Libraries to help with all your homework needs.  Take a look at the library catalogue to see if we have the book you want.

Homework solutions at your local library

In addition to the information books that you can borrow, each library has a  Homework Help collection for use in the library only - a great solution if half your class has borrowed all the books on Romans!  Each collection contains books on history, geography, science, religion, music, art and famous people.  Some of these are internet-linked so you can find even more useful homework information on the web.

SOKS Club

SOKS is a free homework club for children aged 8-16 and their parents to work together on homework and GCSE coursework.  There is a tutor on hand to advise on using the Internet safely, and offer general practical advice about using the world wide web.  Visit the children's activities page to find out more.

Homework solutions on the Internet

Visit Homework Elephant to explore 5000 Internet resources to help complete all your homework assignments.  Drop an e-mail to Agony Elephant if you have a homework question!

Top Marks is a quick way to find homework help and revision websites.  It covers all the National Curriculum subjects, and is useful for all ages, including parents and teachers.

Britannica Junior is an encyclopedia for children aged 5 to 11.  As well as all the usual homework subjects, it includes a world atlas, a dictionary, a timeline, the latest news reported by CBBC and even an animal of the day!

Britannica Student is designed for young people aged 12 to 18.  You can browse the encyclopedia by subject, or search the special features including video-links, biographies, and big events in history.

Visit BBC Schools site for study support for primary and secondary school subjects, plus help with revision, and lots of games so you can learn and have fun too.

Kevin's Playroom is an award-winning education portal produced and maintained by children.

Don't forget!

Anyone can put things on the Internet so you have to be careful what you read as it may not be true.  If you are not sure about a website then visit the Quick Guide to help you decide if what you are reading is true.
