Getting Help with Garden Maintenance
To be eligible for the Garden Maintenance Scheme you must be a Swindon Borough Council tenant with either:
- a disability and no able-bodied relative living with you to maintain your garden
or
- an infirmity which prevents you from maintaining your garden
If you are not sure of your eligibility, then please phone your Neighbourhood Housing Officer on 01793 445503.
Since 6th April 2009 a service charge of £1 a week has been introduced for grass-cutting, also a service charge of £1 a week for hedge trimming.
If your garden needs clearing in order to allow it to be maintained, and you are unable to get someone to help you, there may be a one-off fee for this.
Critical friends
Do you fancy being a 'critical friend'? We would like feedback from people whose gardens we maintain to help us improve our service.
Please give your Neighbourhood Housing Officer a call on 01793 445503.
How to Apply
