Council Tax Benefit - Counter-fraud
Benefit is paid for by public funds - in other words, your taxes. The Council is keen to make prompt payments of benefit to genuine claimants, but it is also committed to stamping out benefit fraud to safeguard those funds, and ensure that only the people who are eligible to get benefit actually receive it.
If you suspect that someone is committing a benefit fraud, please telephone our confidential hotline on 01793 464690. Alternatively you can report a suspected fraud (anonymously if you wish) using our Online Fraud Referral Form:
