Any person can be made the subject of an Acceptable Behaviour Contract (ABC), although it is expected that the majority of contracts will be made with young people.
If a child is under ten years of age, then a Parenting Contract would be used. This is similar to an ABC except that the parents or guardians of the child would sign the contract and take full responsibility to ensure it is not breached.
The police and council will work together in partnership with other agencies such as local schools to identify any individual whose behaviour is felt to be anti-social.
