Direct Debit is Swindon Borough Council's preferred method of payment. Direct Debit is an automated method of paying your bills. Swindon Borough Council will arrange for your bank or building society to transfer your payments directly to Swindon Borough Council.

If you currently pay by any other method and wish to change to Direct Debit, you must complete a Direct Debit instruction and return it to Swindon Borough Council's Council Tax Section.

Please write your account number on the reverse of your cheque. Cheques should be made payable to ‘Swindon Borough Council’. (Please do not send cash through the post.) Receipts will only be issued if requested.
Post Office payments can only be made by cash and only with a Council Tax Post Office Payment Card. If you do not have a Payment Card and require one to pay at the Post Office please contact us.
