Visiting Swindon
Food Hygiene, Street Cleaning, Recycling
Swindon Borough Council takes its commitment to the environment very seriously.
Through Local Agenda 21, we are pioneering a responsible attitude to the whole question of the sustainability of our planet.
Following the principles laid down at the Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro, the Council honours the pledge to protect the environment and improve society. These principles are carried through in every aspect of the workings of the Council, but this section of the website highlights those areas where their influence is most direct.
Included here are sections specifically relating to animal welfare, the protection of the environment and the mechanisms associated with planning and development - all the areas where concern for the environment is the fundamental consideration.
