Baby Bookcrawl

Baby Bookcrawl

Rhyme Times in Swindon Libraries

Your child is invited to join the Baby Bookcrawl!

Are you a parent with a child under four years old? If the answer to this is YES, then Baby Bookcrawl is for you.  Collect stickers every time you visit the library with your baby and a certificate after every 5 visits!

Where to take part

The Baby Bookcrawl runs in all Swindon Libraries

For details please contact Emma McElwee on 01793 465554 or email EMcElwee@swindon.gov.uk

How to join the Baby Bookcrawl

First you need to join your child in the library. It's FREE and easy to do. Just bring along proof of your name and address e.g. a benefit book or recent bill and we'll do the rest.

Next: choose some books, take them home to read and bring them back when you've finished.

Then every time you bring your child to the library to borrow  books they will receive a special Bookcrawl sticker.

Now we know that once you've enjoyed one lot of books you'll be raring to come back for more. As an added incentive however, the library will present your child with a certificate after every five visits. That means a lot of stories, a lot of fun and a lot of learning going on in the process, all topped off with a certificate.

What happens if my child damages a book?

We know that children often develop an appetite for books in more ways than one. As well as reading them, they sometimes like to add a little colour to the pages with their crayons. Some have even been known to nibble the odd page or so, just to see if the story tastes as good as it sounds.

Don't panic.

We do want you to try and look after the books so that other children can enjoy them as well. However, should the worst happen, don't cut up your library card and tremble to walk past our doors. Come straight back in and tell us what has happened. We do not charge for children's books damaged by under five year olds. So bring them back and choose some new ones.
