Renewal of Marriage Vows

Introduction

These ceremonies are a unique way of celebrating your married life together, whether you have been married for one year or fifty.

They can be held in the Register Office or at any of the licensed premises within the borough.  Please see our table of fees for the full cost of the ceremony.

About the Ceremony

Each ceremony is unique, in that you decide yourself what to include.  You might want to consider using any of the following:

• Introduction
• Readings
• Words from children of the relationship
• Words from a guest at the original wedding - often the Best Man
• Remembering absent friends
• New vows
• Re-dedication or new rings

The ceremony will last from 15 to 30 minutes, depending on what you decide to include, and we are happy to consider putting in other sections that you might think of that do not form part of our normal package.

Once you have decided that you wish to hold a ceremony, please contact us to make a booking We will then invite you to visit the Register Office, so that we can discuss the event.  At that meeting, we will issue you with a pack to take away, so that you can decide what to include in the words of the ceremony.  At this point, a non-refundable deposit is payable.

Included in our package is the following:

• Services of one of our trained celebrants
• Order of Service for your guests
• Celebratory certificate for you to sign and keep
• Attendance card for all your guests to sign
• Copy of the final ceremony

Renewal of Vows ceremonies are a really special way of celebrating your marriage, and we will do everything we can to make the day memorable.
