Crime and Drugs Reduction Strategy

Swindon Crime and Drugs Reduction Srategy 2005 to 2008

A Strategy for Swindon

A Crime and Drugs Reduction Strategy for Swindon has been developed by the Community Safety Partnership. It is a three year plan, covering the period 2005 to 2008. The strategy sets out the way forward and, in particular, the investment and activity that will address the issues that Swindon’s communities have identified through the Crime and Drugs Audit, undertaken in 2004.

This strategy sets out four themes, reflecting areas of most concern voiced by the people of Swindon. These are:

  1. Reducing Anti Social Behaviour
  2. Reducing Violent Crime
  3. Reducing Misuse of Drugs
  4. Reducing Victimisation

The strategy sets out in terms of clear aims and actions, how improvements will be achieved, with clear and measurable outcomes. While activities are undertaken against a background of limited resources, increasing demand and high expectation they are nevertheless undertaken with absolute commitment to “Keeping Swindon Safe”.
