Grassroots Grants 2008/09

2008/09 deadlines are 30th April 2008,  30th June 2008,   30th September 2008,   5th January 2009

The grassroots grants fund has been set up to support community based activities and to help less experienced groups develop as organisations. Funding is limited to organisations with a turnover below £50,000 a year and no organisation can receive more than £1,000 in one year.

Every application should be supported in writing by a local Councillor.

The Guidance for the programme is new and will be subject to final approval and review later in the financial year. Any changes will be notified to applicants in time.

The funding will be available at quarterly intervals throughout the year. The deadline for applications for the next round is on Wednesday April 30th. All applications will be acknowledged and we will inform all applicants of the outcome by the end of April.

All eligible applications will be assessed to determine if they meet the eligibility criteria and the Council’s policy objectives outlined in the Guidance.

Payment of grants will be made in advance but we will require proof of expenditure to be submitted together with a brief (one side of A4) report of the activity or project when it is completed.

Please read the guidance carefully before you fill in the application as we can only assess your application based on what you have written on the form. If you have any queries please address them to me either at my e-mail address or phone no.

Yours sincerely

Mark Feeny
Commissioning and Contracts Officer
