Information is divided by into Borough, Ward and Neighbourhood level wherever possible. The data reflects key recent sources such as Census 2001, Index of Deprivation 2004. Some data sources offer an additional period of 01 April 2003 to 30 September 2003 and performance in the financial year 01 April 2002 to 31 March 2003. Education data reflects academic years.
The Community Needs Profile 2003/04 should not be regarded as a definitive not exhaustive compilation of data available – it is a gathering of data available at a given time.
Generally data is presented rather than analysed to enable a broad interpretation and use of data contained within this Profile. Contacts for further information or relevant strategy documents are named throughout the document to assist those requiring assistance or additional information. The format of the Profile has been created to enable the release of updates periodically.
The Community Needs Profile is a resource for anyone requiring statistical information relating to Swindon and its Ward and Neighbourhood areas. Its primary purpose is to give base line information useful to organisations planning services; managers wishing to target their services to those in greatest need; and groups, organisations or agencies making funding applications. Any information used from this document should be used sensitively and in good faith. All data sources should be correctly identified and acknowledged if used in other material.
