Community Halls Hire

Community Hire

We call it 'community hire', but our customers sometimes have other names for it, including 'halls for hire', 'social halls' and 'community halls'. But we are all talking about the same thing - halls owned and managed by the Council which the public are welcome to hire - sometimes at significantly reduced rates.

The Venues

Swindon Borough Council has 16 such venues, spread right across the town, and several of these buildings offer a choice of rooms of different sizes and with different facilities, so we can provide the right setting for a huge range of functions, from small committee meetings or seminars to christenings and large public meetings.

Our venues range from basic committee rooms seating up to 15 people to large halls which are capable of accommodating as many as 120 with some covered by a premises licence. Most venues have been adapted to give access to disabled customers and many also have loops installed for the hard of hearing.

The Booking Process

The good news is that the management of all these halls, including booking, is controlled centrally in our offices at Premier House, making the process of choosing, booking and paying for room and hall hire very straightforward. These pages are designed to make these processes even easier.

Once you have been through the simple process, we will contact you to either confirm the booking, suggest and make alternative arrangements or, if necessary, discuss further details.

There are three simple steps to take - only two if you already know which hall you want to book. Simply follow the links to the right.
